Make a statement with a new coffee table

What image is brought to your mind when you hear the word ‘coffee table’? I see this:

Strange? Well, this is a coffee table that we (me and my fiancé) decided to buy, after a long, and daunting table hunt. We wanted something that would simply make a statement in the living room, something a bit extraordinary. The shape of this table might remind you of a surfing board, but it’s extremely practical, as you can tuck so many small and medium size item in its hidden shelves. It’s also easy to maintain. However, most importantly, it gives any room that ‘wow’ factor we are all looking for when decorating and choosing furniture pieces to go in the space.

I have selected other interesting coffee tables that could become the centrepieces in your living rooms and make a real statement:

Something for a book lover, especially if you want to have your favourite books at hand:

This starship looking like table could be a standalone piece in a modern space. Use the shelf in the middle to dispel your favourite books.

03

Another, architecturally inspired coffee table from ligne roset that would intrigue every guest.

05

Practical rows provide ample space for books and magazines.

06

Ideal for playful individuals, offering a wide range of combinations-sky is the limit!

07

Use shelves for magazines, notebooks, or snack coasters.

08

If you’re not convinced about bold shapes, choose something more subtle, like this simple cracked coffee table that could also function as bedside table or a tabouret.

09

Another solution, if you prefer a traditional shape. This table is a beautiful, yet functional marriage of glass and wood. The grid top creates interest so that you almost want to have a peak through 😉

Most of the tables above come from www.ligne-roset.com, but you can find some fantastic, modern or traditional coffee tables at Heals, Habitat, BHS Furniture, and recently discovered by me the Sofa & Chair company in London 🙂
